An Iconic Kiwi Family Beach Home on an Idyllic Site.
YOUR DREAM GET AWAY.
Getting there and where it is.
Maramatotara Bay, Whitianga, is also called Front Beach, can be seen on google earth.
Two and a quarter hour drive from Auckland.
Welcomed upon arrival by Managers living just across the Road.
The Managers are available for help and guidance on activities during stay.
An idyllic site.
With no neighbors on either side and an exceptionally wide sea front, the site is regarded as stunning and
it is private. Whether flat calm seas and blue skies or in a storm, the beauty and wonder of nature is profound. The sea birds, gannets, toreas, and seagulls provide constant action. Then the sounds and visual beauty of the native birds - Tuis, fantails, wax eyes, kereru (native pigeons).
The family have owned and developed the property on an ongoing basis for thirty plus years, and are continuously doing this. The intention is to share the home with couples and families intending to stay a minimum
of three days. To appreciate the beauty of what NZ, and specifically the Coromandel Peninsula can offer.
Modern amenities. A place to tarry a while, treasure, and enjoy. Not just to rush in and out.
A Great Nights Sleep.
Three BRs with King size DB. All have extensive sea views.
The first bed room is shown on the left corner of the house above. Master BR “Biaritz” is the owners and
not generally available except to fully identified persons. All have sliding doors with immediate access outside.
The first and third of those BR have their own modern en-suites.
The second shares the main shower and separate toilet.
Fourth BR with bunk and single bed sleeps 3 with double door looking out to sea. Plus rowing machine.
4 toilets, 4 showers plus outside cold shower for washing off after swimming.
Highly Regarded.
While the bones of the house are not new, it is sunny, warm in winter, comfortable. Rave reviews all the
time. Years ago when electric meter boards were read manually, the meter reader regarded it as his
favourite and most outstanding site on the Coromandel Peninsula.
Activities.
Direct access onto beach by private steps. A safe sandy swimming beach with no tidal undertows.
A pleasant walk in both directions. To the western end of the beach there is a prolific mussel rock where
it is easy to harvest mussels at low tide. Slightly further a delightful secluded cove. To the eastern end,
the cliffs show some fascinating lava flows in the ignimbrite rock. At low tide one can walk around the
shore to Flaxmill Bay and then the track up Shakespeare Cliff.
A choice of restaurants are available by walking and ferry to Whitianga;
by walking or car to Flaxmill Bay; and by car to Cooks Beach, Hahei, and Hot Water Beach.
The local store on the short walk to Ferry Landing provides excellent coffee and a range of foods and
cooked ready to serve meals.
Attractive local walks, Maramatotara, Maori Pa, Shakespeares Cliff, Lonely Bay.
9 hole Purangi Golf Course, ten minutes drive. Loan clubs available.
Charter fishing trip options as well as one can fish off the beach.
A variety of tourist boats depart from Ferry Landing.

After a short walk to Ferry Landing, the Maramatotara track passes close to the Maori Pa. Capt Cook regarded the Pa (Fort) as out-standing with steep rock faces on three sides. Seen middle left from the viewing platform. From there the track terminates close to the house.

Ferry Landing where the pedestrian ferry connects Front Beach with Whitianga township. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. This fast flowing estuary is steeped in early NZ history. Kauri and other timbers, dairy. Visit the museum.
